Oklahoma Farm Bureau has a wide range of volunteer groups for all ages, including Farm Bureau Women, Young Farmers & Ranchers and several activities available for state youth.
The purpose of the Farm Bureau Women's (FBW) Program is to help promote the entire Farm Bureau program, with emphasis on activities particularly suited to the talents and interests of women. Any woman from a Farm Bureau family is eligible to participate in the activities of the Farm Bureau Women. Women are active in all phases of Farm Bureau – from county policy development--to serving as delegates to the American Farm Bureau Federation national convention.
YF&R stands for Young Farmers and Ranchers. The Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Program is designed to allow members of Farm Bureau, between the ages of 18 and 35, the opportunity to develop leadership skills, compete in contests to win valuable prizes, be involved in their local communities, and develop long lasting friendships with people from across the state and country. YF&R members plan and participate in a wide range of activities at all levels of Farm Bureau - county, state, and national. All of these activities are designed to educate, develop leadership skills, and of course, be fun!
Several activities are available for Oklahoma youth through the Oklahoma Farm Bureau. These include college scholarships, a livestock judging contest, an annual speech contest and a three-day safety seminar.
For more information on any of these volunteer committees or youth activities, contact Marcia Irvin, FBW/YF&R Coordinator, at 405-523-2405.
