Farm Bureau member Curt Roberts featured in News9 story
May 24th, 2010Oklahoma County Farm Bureau president Curt Roberts was featured in a News9 estate tax story. Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Okla., visited Roberts' Arcadia-area farm to discuss what will happen with the estate tax at the end of this year.
Inhofe has pending legislation to change the estate tax law so farmers and ranchers will have the ability to plan for estate transfer.
Equine dentistry rally featured in News 9 story
February 17th, 2010Farm Bureau members showed their support for equine dentistry at a rally at the Oklahoma Capitol Feb. 16.
Rep. Don Armes' HB 3202 would define the act of equine dentistry, or teeth floating, as an act of animal husbandry. The bill also defines and permits other livestock care practices as animal husbandry acts.
Farm Bureau members visited with their state senators and representatives before the rally to discuss the importance of the bill to Oklahoma agriculture.

Tulsa County Women showcase their work in Seattle
January 10th, 2010The Tulsa County Farm Bureau women's committee built a greenhouse for inner-city students attending Tulsa's Kendall-Whittier elementary school in March 2009. For their work with the school, Tulsa County was selected to be a County Activities of Excellence participant by the American Farm Bureau Federation. The Tulsa County women are showcasing their greenhouse project at the trade show at the American Farm Bureau national Convention in Seattle, Wa., Jan. 10-13.
This video highlights the project and the impact it made and the Tulsa women's committee's relationship with students at Kendall-Whittier elementary.
