Rogers County Farm Bureau is in the heart of cattle country. Alfalfa, corn, pecans, soybeans, wheat, and prairie hay are the main crops grown in the county. We are proud supporters of the Rogers County Feeding Extravaganza, where students feed out different species of livestock and are judged on the animal’s carcass merit and rate of gain. In the fall, we are a supporter of the Rogers County Fair & Livestock Show while local FFA and 4-H leaders work with us to make this a great success. We also offer a scholarship program to county high school seniors and college students that is available in the spring for application.
Rogers County Farm Bureau will award four $500 college scholarships to high school seniors. Applicants must meet all of the following eligibility requirements:
- Must be a member of a Rogers County Farm Bureau member family, excluding family members of board of directors, Women’s Leadership Committee and YF&R Committee members, agents, and employees of any county Farm Bureau or Oklahoma Farm Bureau.
- Must be a high school senior or graduated (GED equivalent) or presently enrolled in college, vo-tech or trade school. Post-graduate studies are excluded.
Applicants must provide the following materials along with the application:
- A certified copy of transcript from high school or college covering last semester’s work.
- Three letters of recommendation from a counselor, current or former teacher, minister, or current or former school administrator.
Mail the completed application and accompanying materials to Rogers County Farm Bureau, 1126 W. Will Rogers Blvd., Claremore, OK 74017.
All recipients will be notified no later than May 1, 2020. Scholarship funds will be mailed to recipient, but made payable to the recipient and the college or trade school. Scholarships will be in the amount of $250 per semester for a total of $500 per year. Recipient is required to maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA and carry a minimum of 12 hours. Verification will be required of GPA along with proof of enrollment for the second semester before a check will be issued.
