Oklahoma Farm Bureau recently welcomed two college students to the organization as agricultural programs and events interns.
Throughout the summer, they will work alongside all departments of the organization. From analyzing policy initiatives to capturing photos for events, OKFB’s summer interns will have the opportunity to work alongside Farm Bureau staff to elevate the organization’s impact.
Alyssa Henry
Originally from Owasso, Alyssa Henry was highly involved in her school’s FFA program, raising show lambs and competing in numerous career development events. Henry also recalls spending summers in Southwest Arkansas on her family’s beef cattle operation, providing her with even more agricultural perspective.
Henry brings with her a wide array of experience from previous internships and opportunities, including marketing and business support for J. Cole in Stillwater and spending time in the Oklahoma Senate as an intern with Sen.Casey Murdock where she combined her love for agribusiness, policy, and advocacy.
“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to surround myself with people who so deeply care for agriculture and the community surrounding it,” Henry said.“OKFB members have countless stories to tell and lessons that I am excited to learn from.”
She is currently obtaining a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business with a pre-law concentration from Oklahoma State University. Henry plans to graduate from OSU in December of 2026.
Jalynn Barenberg
A transplant from Northwest Arkansas, Jalynn Barenberg grew up around a small-scale agricultural operation focused on diverse show animal production.
Barenberg moved to Miami, Oklahoma, to judge horses for Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, where she earned an associate degree in agriculture. She will transfer to Oklahoma State University in the Fall of 2026 and will pursue a bachelor’s degree in agricultural communications.
Barenberg got her start with OKFB during her time at NEO. She credits serving as president of the college’s Collegiate Farm Bureau chapter for being the reason she applied for the 2026 OKFB summer internship. She was recently elected as vice president of OSU’s Collegiate Farm Bureau chapter for the 2026-2027 school year and intends to remain active there.
“Farm Bureau has already played a crucial role in shaping my leadership skills, developing my network, and fueling me to advocate for the world’s most vital industry,” Barenberg said. “I look forward to learning from knowledgeable professionals who are determined to keep agriculture alive and protected.”
