The Okfuskee County Farm Bureau prides itself in the contributions it makes to its communities. They sponsor local 4-H and FFA programs at the county fair and county livestock show as well as award two graduating seniors whom are Farm Bureau members with $500 scholarships.

They have a very active women’s committee which donates supplies, clothing, etc. to all county schools. They also sponsor all Farm Bureau programs for each school within the county such as the Southwest Dairy, DUI Prevention Training and Defensive Driving Training.

The county’s top commodities are pecans, hay and cattle.

Okfuskee County was the birthplace and home of folk singer Woody Guthrie.  The Woody Guthrie festival is held every year in July which attracts music lovers from all over the world. It was also the birthplace of astronaut William Reid Pogue who piloted the orbital mission Skylab 4.
