The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers committee gathered more than 2,000 pounds of food plus cash donations to help feed Oklahomans facing food insecurity through the committee’s Fill the Sack food drive. More than 70 Oklahoma Farm Bureau members traveled to Anaheim, California, for six days of action-packed sessions, competitions, networking and more during the 2026 American Farm Bureau convention Jan. 9-14. The event kicked off with the annual meeting of AFBF women where OKFB Women’s Leadership Committee members represented Oklahoma in the business session. Cherokee, Payne County Farm Bureaus recognized with national awards at 2026 AFBF convention
Oklahoma’s Cherokee County Farm Bureau and Payne County Farm Bureau were each recognized with County Activities of Excellence Awards at the 2026 American Farm Bureau convention in Anaheim in January. The counties were two of 24 counties recognized by AFBF for their commitment to offering quality programming to their counties to promote Farm Bureau and support their local agriculture communities. Recognizing the vital role that four-legged friends often play on family farms and ranches, Farm Bureau launched the Farm Dog of the Year contest several years ago – now a popular feature of the American Farm Bureau Convention. The winner of the 2026 Farm Bureau Farm Dog of the Year award is Max, a 4-year-old Border Collie owned by Oklahoma Farm Bureau members John, Charla and Brynley Enns. Tulsa County Farm Bureau member appointed to serve as AFBF YF&R chair
Tulsa County Farm Bureau member Tommy Salisbury was appointed to serve as the chair of the American Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers committee on Sunday, Jan. 11, during AFBF’s 2026 convention in Anaheim, California. Salisbury was appointed to serve a 2-year term as chair Sunday after being appointed to the AFBF YF&R committee in early 2025. Salisbury farms about 3,200 acres of soybeans and milo in Tulsa County, and he also has a custom hay-baling operation, runs more than 200 cow/calf pairs and 500 yearlings, and owns the Collinsville Livestock auction. Oklahoma Farm Bureau honored achievements and accomplishments of the organization’s members during the past year at OKFB’s annual awards banquet held Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Omni Hotel in Oklahoma City. Awards were presented to county Farm Bureaus for outstanding achievement in advocating for agriculture and Oklahoma’s rural communities with Presidential Star Awards, the John I. Taylor Award, the Lewis H. Munn Award and more. Comanche County Farm Bureau hosts third-annual Farm Field Days for area students in Lawton
Comanche County Farm Bureau hosted their annual three-day Farm Field Days event Sept. 2-4 at the Comanche County Fairgrounds in Lawton. More than 1,500 elementary-age students from schools around Comanche County and surrounding counties attended the agriculture-focused event. The Sullivan family, Comanche County Farm Bureau members, coordinated the event along with help from surrounding ag community members. The event featured a variety of agriculture-focused stations including animal husbandry, farm equipment, aquaculture, grain commodities, forestry, equine, farm services and landscaping. Noble County Farm Bureau hosts annual ice cream social in Perry
Noble County Farm Bureau hosted their annual ice cream social, Monday, July 14, at the Noble County fairgrounds in Perry. Noble County Farm Bureau members gathered to enjoy ice cream, homemade desserts and hear from local legislators and candidates running in elections in the coming year.
