OKFB to host Legislative Leadership Conference March 6-7 in Oklahoma City

Oklahoma Farm Bureau leaders from across the state will gather in Oklahoma City March 6-7 for the annual OKFB Legislative Leadership Conference.

Held at the Embassy Suites Hotel in downtown Oklahoma City, the two-day conference will feature state and federal agricultural policy updates, a reception with state leaders and lawmakers, and more. OKFB also will present its 2016 Champion Awards to nine state leaders.

No registration is required to attend, but hotel rooms must be reserved by Friday, Feb. 3. Reserve a room by contacting the Embassy Suites Hotel Downtown at 405-239-3900, or contact Tasha Duncan at 405-523-2300.

Monday, March 6

12 p.m. – Lunch 

1 p.m. – Welcome by Monica Wilke, OKFB executive director; State of Oklahoma Farm Bureau by Tom Buchanan, OKFB president

2 p.m. – Oklahoma Lt. Gov. Todd Lamb

3 p.m. – Oklahoma Speaker of the House Charles McCall

3:30 p.m. – Oklahoma State Superintendent Joy Hofmeister

4 p.m – Adjourn

5 p.m. – Reception

5:30 p.m. – Dinner and entertainment; Presentation of OKFB Champion Awards, 100 Percent Club recipients

Tuesday, March 7

6 a.m. to 8 a.m. – Breakfast

8 a.m. – Oklahoma Farming and Ranching Foundation update by Jeramy Rich

8:15 a.m. – Dr. Jim Trapp, associate director for Oklahoma State University Cooperative Extension

9:15 a.m. – Oklahoma State University President Burns Hargis

9:45 a.m. – Break

10 a.m. – Social media presentation by Donelle Harder, Oklahoma Oil & Gas Association vice president of communications, former press secretary for Sen. Jim Inhofe

11 a.m. – OKFB legislative update with John Collison, OKFB vice president of public policy

12 p.m. – Lunch, OKFB 75th Anniversary Commemorative Courtyard dedication at OKFB home office

Afternoon – Visits to state Capitol
