County Farm Bureaus to celebrate Farm Bureau Week Feb. 17–21

County Farm Bureaus across the state will celebrate and promote the grassroots organization during Farm Bureau Week held Feb. 17 through Feb. 21.

The weeklong celebration provides county Farm Bureaus an opportunity to promote the organization in local communities. Many county offices will host an open house to allow those interested in Farm Bureau to stop by and learn more about being an OKFB member.

Listed below are a few of the events held during Farm Bureau Week. To submit your county’s activities, please contact Hannah Davis at (405) 523-2300.

Blaine County

Blaine County Farm Bureau will host an open house on Thursday, Feb. 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. featuring free lunch and door prizes.

Cherokee County

Cherokee County Farm Bureau will provide coffee and donuts Tuesday, Feb. 18 through Friday, Feb. 21 at the county office located at 1919 Mahaney Ave. in Tahlequah. The county also will give away three $50 gift cards.

Comanche County

The Comanche County Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee will serve refreshments from 10 a.m. through 1 p.m. at the county office located at 502 SW 11th St., Suite B in Lawton.

Cotton County

Cotton County Farm Bureau will be serving free pulled pork sandwiches for Farm Bureau Week on Friday, Feb. 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its office located at 125 N. Broadway in Walters.

Garfield County

Each day during Farm Bureau Week, Garfield County Farm Bureau will provide refreshments and goodie bags at the county office located at 408 N. Willow Rd. in Enid.

Kay County

Kay County Farm Bureau met with Kay County Commissioners to proclaim Feb. 17-21 “Farm Bureau Week” throughout Kay County.

Lincoln County

Lincoln County Farm Bureau will host an open house for its members and the community on Friday, Feb. 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at both locations in Chandler (802 Manvel Ave.) and Prague (1004 W. Main, Drawer C). The events will feature free hot dogs, chips, drinks and cookies along with a drawing to win a Made in Oklahoma basket.

Okmulgee County

Okmulgee County Farm Bureau will donate Farm Bureau clocks to all agricultural education programs in Okmulgee County during Farm Bureau Week. The county also had the Okmulgee county commissioners designate Feb. 17-21 as “Farm Bureau Week” in Okmulgee County.

Payne County

Payne County Farm Bureau will set up a booth at Stillwater Milling Company on Friday, Feb. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Payne County members who stop by can enter to win a solar fence charger. The county also will host a drawing for $100 of feed. New members who sign up can spin a prize wheel to win a variety of giveaways including gift cards, extra drawing entries and goodie bags.

Throughout the week, Payne County also will accept nominations of elementary teachers to win two baskets filled with accurate agriculture books for their classrooms and will host a coloring contest for Glencoe and Yale second-grade students.

Seminole County

Seminole County Farm Bureau will host a free hot dog lunch on Friday, Feb. 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the county office located at 1801 W. Wrangler Blvd. in Seminole. Members and the community are invited to stop by the county office for an open house from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. during Farm Bureau Week for free refreshments and to enter a drawing for one of two $50 Wal-Mart gift cards.
