OFB President Receives Honorary American FFA Degree

October 28, 2004

OFB President receives Honorary American FFA Degree Oklahoma Farm Bureau President Steve Kouplen of Beggs has been honored with the Honorary American FFA Degree. The award is given to those who advance agricultural education and FFA through outstanding personal commitment.

“I’m not accepting this award on my behalf, but on behalf of the Oklahoma Farm Bureau,” Kouplen said. “We as an organization spend hundreds of thousands of dollars investing in our rural youth through premium sales, scholarship programs and sponsorships of youth activities.”

The National FFA Organization works to enhance the lives of youth through agricultural education. Without the efforts of highly dedicated individuals, thousands of young people would not be able to achieve success that, in turn, contributes directly to the overall well being of the nation. The Honorary American FFA Degree is an opportunity to recognize those who have gone beyond the valuable daily contributions to make an extraordinary long-term difference in the lives of students, inspiring confidence in a new generation of agriculturists.

“As a farm organization, we realize that one of the most important commodities we produce is our children and grandchildren,” Kouplen said. “I am extremely happy and proud to be a part of showing appreciation to these young people as president of Oklahoma Farm Bureau. I know all of these efforts are supported by thousands of Farm Bureau people in all 77 counties of Oklahoma.”
