As we enter the final few weeks of the legislative session, it will soon be time to start reflecting on what this session has brought us. Oklahoma Farm Bureau receives grant from AFBF Women’s Leadership Team
From a strong field of applicants, three state and four county Farm Bureaus were selected to each receive a $700 grant from the American Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee to help fund “Our Food Link” activities. Farm Bureau member testifies on water rule at Pennsylvania hearing
Pennsylvania Farm Bureau voiced its opposition to a recently proposed rule jointly issued by the Environmental Protection Agency and Army Corps of Engineers that attempts to expand federal regulation of land areas as “waters of the U.S.,” during a field hearing today before the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. American Farm Bureau tells members to ‘ditch’ EPA water rule
The American Farm Bureau Federation asked its members earlier this week to resist a proposed rule from the Environmental Protection Agency that it says will impose unworkable regulations on the nation’s farms. Published Monday in the Federal Register, the more-than-111,000-word “Waters of the U.S.” proposed rule reflects the EPA’s latest interpretation of the 1972 Clean Water Act. On the Road with Ag in the Classroom
The Oklahoma Ag in the Classroom is headed to the Panhandle region of Oklahoma for this year’s On the Road tour, June 17 – 19. The Panhandle is home to a variety of fun learning experiences, including the Black Mesa, which is the highest point in Oklahoma, and dinosaur country. The Kenton area’s lava formations features dinosaur tracks, Indian pictographs, caves and many peculiar rock formations. OKFB pleased with Right to Farm passing Senate
Oklahoma Farm Bureau thanks the Oklahoma Senate for passing HJR 1006, known as the right to farm resolution, with a vote of 44-3. The resolution would allow Oklahoma voters in November to vote on a constitutional amendment protecting the rights of the state’s farmers and ranchers to produce food, fuel and fiber. Rural women leaders feed state legislators
State lawmakers received a “taste of the country” April 15 during the annual Oklahoma Farm Bureau Farm City Festival at the Capitol. The event is sponsored by the OKFB Women’s Leadership Team, consisting of rural women leaders from throughout the state. The rural leaders use the Capitol’s first floor rotunda area to set out a spread of freshly prepared food, much of it home baked.
