OKFB’s Bushels for Books donates agriculture books to 13 Oklahoma teachers
Thirteen Oklahoma teachers were recently selected to receive a basket of accurate agriculture books as part of Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s Bushels for Books program. The program is a collaboration between the OKFB Foundation for Agriculture and the OKFB Women’s Leadership Committee. OKFB, OCA to host gubernatorial candidate forum on agriculture
Oklahoma Farm Bureau and the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association are set to host a gubernatorial candidate forum on agriculture Wednesday, Oct. 26 from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Comanche County Fairgrounds in Lawton. Incumbent Republican candidate Gov. Kevin Stitt is confirmed to attend. Democratic candidate Joy Hofmeister has been invited but has not yet confirmed. Farm Bureau donates more than $60,000 to rural fire departments in battle against ongoing drought
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Fire Department Matching Program donated a total of $61,300 to rural fire departments around the state of Oklahoma. OKFB welcomes appropriation of additional drought-relief funds
Governor Kevin Stitt announced today his signing of HB 1006 XX, a measure allocating an additional $20 million in drought relief for Oklahoma farmers and ranchers. OKFB YF&R hosts record-breaking State Fair Livestock Judging Contest
A record 1,694 FFA and 4-H members participated in the 2022 Oklahoma State Fair Livestock Judging Contest at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds Sept. 15 in Oklahoma City. The contest, sponsored by the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers committee, kicked off the festivities for the 2022 Oklahoma State Fair. Students had the opportunity to evaluate several species of livestock, including market and breeding classes of beef, sheep and swine. The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Ag PAC endorsed two more candidates and contributed an additional $16,900 in financial support to new and previously supported candidates leading up to the Nov. 8 general election. New OKFB Ag PAC endorsees include Josh Brecheen for United States House District 2 and Kim David, who the PAC previously supported for Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner. OKFB Legal Foundation praises Supreme Court in recreational marijuana ruling
The Oklahoma Supreme Court ruled today to uphold the state statutory procedures a state question must follow to advance to the ballot. Last week, proponents of State Question 820 – a measure to legalize recreational marijuana – filed a petition to circumvent Oklahoma’s state statute for initiative petitions. The Court heard oral arguments on Friday, August 26 from the supporters of SQ 820 and Attorney General John O’Connor, who represented the Oklahoma Secretary of State, the Oklahoma State Election Board and Governor Kevin Stitt, who opposed the petitioners’ request to the court.
