YF&R 2014 Spring Tour dates, schedule announced

The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers have announced the schedule for the group’s 2014 Spring Tour, which will be held April 25 – 26 in northeast Oklahoma. This two-day event is an opportunity for YF&R members to explore the diverse agricultural commodities produced in Oklahoma.  The 2014 tour is scheduled for northeastern Oklahoma, with stops including the Port of Catoosa and Moore’s Fish Farm. The spring tour is a great time to network with fellow YF&R members, while learning more about the products that drive the agricultural industry around the state. Schnaithman wins Farm Bureau Discussion Meet

November 15, 2013

Travis Schnaithman, of Garber, was named the 2013 Young Farmers and Ranchers Discussion Meet winner at the Oklahoma Farm Bureau 72nd Annual Meeting, Nov. 15, in Norman. Schnaithman competed against four other participants in three rounds of debate-style discussion where performance was evaluated on the exchange of ideas and information on pre-determined topics. Participants were judged on their ability to offer constructive criticism, cooperation and communication while analyzing agricultural problems and developing solutions. Altus FFA wins Oklahoma Farm Bureau video contest

The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee selected Cade Childress and Carson Vineyard of the Altus FFA Chapter as the winners of the inaugural YF&R video contest. The contest was designed as an outlet for high-school students to use their communications skills to show how Oklahoma producers care about the products they are producing.
