Meet the speakers for OKFB’s annual meeting Nov. 11-13

October 27, 2022

Oklahoma Farm Bureau is excited to announce the speakers for the annual meeting Nov. 11-13 at the Embassy Suites and Convention Center in Norman.

At the three-day convention, the organization will recognize member achievements, set grassroots policy, elect leaders and hear from state and industry leaders. Below, meet several of the speakers Farm Bureau members will hear from during the meeting.

American Farm Bureau Vice President Joby Young | General session Friday, Nov. 11 at 1:30 p.m.

Young joined AFBF in July, where he serves as chief of staff – managing across departments and working closely with state Farm Bureaus to achieve organizational goals.

He was a partner at Horizons Global Solutions LLC, a consulting firm where he advised clients in the food and agriculture sectors. Young also previously served as Chief of Staff in a variety of USDA offices and mission areas, including the Office of Congressional Relations and Rural Development, before becoming the Chief of Staff to the Deputy Secretary and ultimately serving in that role for the entire department under the Secretary of Agriculture. He also served as a Chief of Staff in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Congressman Markwayne Mullin | General session Friday, Nov. 11 at 1:30 p.m.

Congressman Markwayne Mullin is currently serving his fifth term in office for Oklahoma’s Second Congressional District.

Mullin currently serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, including the Subcommittee on Communications and Technology, Subcommittee on Health, and on Environment and Climate Change. Mullin also serves on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence as Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Intelligence, Modernization, and Readiness and as a member of the Subcommittee on Defense Intelligence and Warfighter Support and the Subcommittee on Strategic Technologies and Advanced Research.

LeAnn Hart | Worship service and breakfast Sunday, Nov. 13 at 8:45 a.m.

Hart was born in South Louisiana. She was raised rodeoing and working hard on a dairy farm, always dreaming about being a cowgirl. It was at the young age of eight years old that she dedicated her life to the Lord, although she found out the world has a way of weathering your faith from time to time.

After graduating high school and going to a semester of college she soon realized school really wasn’t her thing. Given the opportunity for an audition at Dollywood, she made the trip all the way to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and got the job at the age of 18. The years that she spent in Tennessee gave her the confidence that she needed on stage, but she soon realized her platform might come with a little different presentation. Making the move to Oklahoma and marrying JW Hart, the Iron Man and PBR bull rider, would prove to be one of the greatest tests of all.
