Chevrolet expands benefit offering for eligible Farm Bureau members

Chevrolet is excited to announce the addition of Motor Trend’s 2015 Truck of the Year – the all-new Chevy Colorado – to the list of 80-plus Chevrolet, Buick and GMC vehicles that qualify for a $500 incentive for eligible Farm Bureau members. Nine of the state’s top agricultural advocates will receive the Oklahoma Farm Bureau 2014 Champion Award during the OKFB Leadership Conference, Feb. 16-17, at the Renaissance Convention Center Hotel in Oklahoma City. ‘Premier canola event for 2015’ set for Enid

OKFB to host Leadership Conference, Feb. 16-17

Oklahoma Farm Bureau will host their annual Leadership Conference Feb. 16-17 in Oklahoma City at the Renaissance Oklahoma City Convention Center Hotel. The conference focuses on updating members on the legislative issues at state and federal levels for the year. The agenda for the two-day conference features Congressman Frank Lucas and Congressman Steve Russell, who will be giving updates from Washington, D.C. Also on the agenda is Lt. OKFB members travel to San Diego for AFBF Annual Convention

Oklahoma Farm Bureau members gathered in San Diego this week for the American Farm Bureau Federation 96th Annual Convention and IDEAg Trade Show. The convention featured a variety of workshops on many topics. A livestock market update, FDA regulatory and issue update and application of UAS technology in precision agriculture were just a few of the informational sessions offered to members. Agricultural technology and innovation workshops will take the spotlight Saturday, Jan. 10 in San Diego, during the IDEAg Innovate Conference. The conference is one of the highlights of the American Farm Bureau Federation’s 2015 Annual Convention and IDEAg Trade Show, Jan. 9-14, at the San Diego Convention Center. Statement by Bob Stallman, AFBF President, regarding passage of Tax Extenders Bill

H.R. 5771, also known as the Tax Extenders Bill, passed the U.S. Congress yesterday. The bill contains a provision in the tax code, Section 179, which would allow a small business, like a farm or ranch, to expense up to $500,000 in capital investment, when requirements are met. AFBF President Bob Stallman released the following statement regarding the passage of the bill. Tax Increase Prevention Act is beneficial to Oklahoma farmers and ranchers

H.R. 5771, the Tax Increase Prevention Act of 2014, is very important to Oklahoma farmers and ranchers. The bill contains a provision in the tax code, Section 179, which would allow a small business, like a farm or ranch, to expense up to $500,000 in capital investment, when requirements are met. The bill’s proposed language would increase the Section 179 tax deduction from $25,000 to $500,000 only for the year 2014. Rosholt named director of fundraising, public relations for Oklahoma Farming and Ranching Foundation

Amanda Rosholt was recently named the Director of Fundraising and Public Relations for the Oklahoma Farming and Ranching Foundation. As director, Rosholt will be responsible for raising funds and serving as the media relations contact for the foundation as well as maintaining the website.
