Women’s Leadership Committee awards four Nurse’s Training Scholarships

The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee recently awarded four $500 scholarships to nursing students. Joyce Taylor of Creek County, Jordan Roper of Custer County, Kylee Campbell of Alfalfa County and April Hale of Okmulgee County are the recipients of the scholarship. The WLC recognizes the significant role nurses play in ensuring a high quality of life for all Oklahomans, especially those in rural areas. OKFB Foundation for Agriculture, WLC donate ag books to educators

Fourteen Oklahoma educators from across the state were awarded a basket of agriculture books for their classrooms during Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s 77th Annual Meeting held Nov. 16-18 in Norman, Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture, alongside the OKFB Women’s Leadership Committee, sponsored this year’s Bushels for Books program. The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee is accepting applications for its 2018 nurse’s scholarship program now through July 1. The annual scholarship program awards three $500 scholarships to students studying nursing at an accredited college, university, vo-tech or trade school. Applicants must be Oklahoma Farm Bureau members or a member of a Farm Bureau member family. The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee presented its District Farm and Ranch Family Recognition awards at the organization’s annual meeting Nov. 10 in Norman, Oklahoma. OKFB women hold second-annual safety day

The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee hosted its second-annual safety day June 3 at the OKFB home office in Oklahoma City. OKFB Women donate to Tulsa Ronald McDonald House as part of Our Food Link Program

The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee donated a gift basket of snacks and gift cards to the Ronald McDonald House in Tulsa on Tuesday, March 15.  Farm Bureau women donated the items to help families who have children receiving care at local hospitals during their stay at the Tulsa Ronald McDonald house. Women’s Leadership Committee to host fall rally Oct. 30-31

The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee will host its Fall Rally Oct. 30 and 31 at the Simmons Center in Duncan, Oklahoma.  The two-day conference will feature various speakers including: Tricia Howell, deputy director for Oklahoma Department of Human Services Child Welfare Services; Shawna McWaters, division head of Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City Agriculture Technologies; Laura Brennan, education coordinator for the Oklahoma Poison Control Center; Tom Buchanan, president of OKFB; John Collision, vice president of public policy for OKFB; and LeeAnna McNally, director of national affairs for OKFB. Wilke selected for Woman of the Year program

Monica Wilke, executive director of Oklahoma Farm Bureau and Affiliated Companies, has been selected as one of The Journal Record’s “50 Making a Difference” for 2015. This is part of The Journal Record’s Woman of the Year program, which recognizes Oklahoma’s leading women excelling in professional leadership and community activities. Wilke will receive her honor at an Oct. 1 gala event at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. Wilke is a member of several legal and community organizations.
